Today’s guest is Marigold: an indie game designer and artist. They have games available on itch.io such as Wagon Wheel, Feather Down, and Habits of the Common House Ghost and an Etsy shop where they sell washi tape, game accessories, and artwork. This conversation was a really special one, as not only did we dive into the unique processes of developing games during Game Jams and the other interesting ways her games have come about, but we also delve into a discussion about the opportunities ttrpgs give us to explore ourselves and our own interests. This conversation is sure to give you a lot to think about!
As usual, I’ve got a few items of business to go over before we jump into the interview. I mentioned a few episodes ago that Brenton was getting started with a new map pack for Wild Beyond the Witchlight. But that has kind of evolved a bit! When he finished reading the book and made his list of all the areas that he could create a map for, the total was between 60-80 possible maps. So, he decided to make separate map packs for every chapter! He’s hard at work on the first chapter, and we’re pretty excited to see those come together.
Follow us on Twitter at LightheartADV to keep up with when we release each of these new map packs, and you can find all of our map packs by either going to DMsguild.com and searching for Lightheart Adventures as the author, or you can go to lightheartadventures.com/shop to find all our DM’s Guild and DrivethruRPG publications in one spot.
Some other ways you can support us and this show are by subscribing to this show and leaving a review. Reviews help me reach more people, and your review might even get featured on an upcoming episode! Lastly, you can help support the show by checking out our affiliates like the creator behind some of our favorite dice, Dice Envy. They offer gorgeous dice in a variety of materials, including wood, metal, stone, and resin. Go to diceenvy.com and enter code LightheartADV to get 10% off your order, get some snazzy dice, and help me keep this show running.
That is all for now, so please sit back and enjoy this conversation with Mari.
